Let’s build something strong together
2026 is going to be a big year for the club – new players, senior women’s program and much more!
The junior ROOS program continues to grow, with over 90 players resulting in Mount Barker Football Club being the only club in the Hills Football League to field junior teams in both Central and Country divisions.
Coaches
U18

Jason Gloyn
Lachlan Murphy

Jason Gloyn & Lachie Murphy pair up as our Under 18 Boys Coaches for season 2026.
It’s great to see Jason continuing within this squad, after doing a great job in leading our Under 17 country team in 2025. He brings a great skill set across the board; his enthusiasm, positivity, and ability to communicate effectively with individuals and the team are first class.
He will be joined by current A grade player Lachie ‘SOD’ Murphy, as a first time coach. It’s fantastic to see another one of our senior players put their hand up in playing a part in developing our next generation of juniors, but also wanting to develop themselves further. Lachie brings a very solid understanding of the game and structures that are needed at this age level, which is super important with the boys that will be moving into senior footy in the next year or two.
We are super excited about this partnership. They will play a big part in continuing to improve our junior program in the years to come.
U16

Henry Kleinig
Henry ‘Chook’ Kleinig continues as Under 16 Boys coach in 2026.
Chook returns to lead the Under 16 Boys after winning a premiership in his first year of coaching in 2025.
We look forward to his continued contribution and commitment in continuing to build our successful junior Roos program.
U14

Brett Ibbotson
Brett Ibbotson is our Under 14 Boys Coach for season 2026.
Brett has a strong connection to the Club, arriving to Mt Barker in 2014 where he played B grade then filled in for C grade in following years.
He has previously held coaching and support roles at the Club with U14 and U16 boys teams (which resulted in premierships) and has been heavily involved in coaching within the Moddies program throughout all grades.
In addition, he has held administration roles at the Club including on the Junior Committee and as the inaugural Coach Coordinator.
We believe that Brett is a great person to lead our junior Roos team.
U17 Country Division

Brock Gifford
Brock Gifford has been appointed as the U17 Country Division Coach for season 2026.
Brock has extensive coaching experience both at junior and senior level over a long period of time. He returns to the Club after coaching our Reserves team in 2024 & coaching Langhorne Creek A Grade in 2025.
Brock is a great fit for the U17 Country team. His past experience with juniors and overall footy knowledge will be invaluable in fast tracking the groups development.
